Brian Goldthorpe is an expert specializing in business and strategic planning, market research, public affairs, and media relations. The owner and president of Privileged Communication, LLC, a Philadelphia-based consulting company, he works with numerous organizations, such as Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, The Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, and The Christina Pirello Health Education Initiative, on a variety of planning and public affairs initiatives.

Mr. Goldthorpe previously served as the statewide Public Policy Director for the Pennsylvania Chapters of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. In this position, Mr. Goldthorpe was responsible for managing and executing all government relations and lobbying activities at the state and local levels in Pennsylvania. Having recruited and engaged over 2,000 volunteers statewide in various advocacy activities, he also participated with partner organizations in six statewide coalitions that provide consultation and oversight to the Department of Public Welfare, and Pennsylvania Department of Aging.

Before going to work for the National MS Society, he served as a Communications Associate for the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board. Primarily a media relations position, Mr. Goldthorpe was responsible for placing over ten news articles in the Philadelphia Daily News, the Philadelphia Business Journal, and the Philadelphia Metro. He also leveraged coverage by local affiliates of CBS 3 and FOX News for a series of events. Mr. Goldthorpe worked closely with the executive staff on strategic planning and retreats designed to set direction and measurable outcomes for the organization.

Mr. Goldthorpe also has over two years of experience working in Ohio's state government as the top Legislative Aide for State Senator Jeff Jacobson. He conducted legal and statutory research on legislative issues, prepared floor speeches for Senator Jacobson, and worked extensively with constituent and community groups on consensus building around contentious issues.

Prior to starting Privileged Communication, LLC, Mr. Goldthorpe provided third-party strategic consultation for Manhattan-based, Public / Private Ventures, the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, and WinMark Concepts in Washington, DC. With skills in survey research, website development and maintenance, and data analysis, Mr. Goldthorpe bolstered a broad set of professional experiences with formal training and education.

He has a Masters degree from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Communications and Political Science from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
